Everything you need to know about fibroblast treatments — how they work, what to expect, and how to prepare and care for your skin.

Fibroblast, also called Plasma Skin Tightening, is a non-surgical, non-invasive treatment that lifts, tightens, and rejuvenates the skin by stimulating collagen and elastin production. It can improve fine lines, wrinkles, scars, stretch marks, and sagging skin — without injections or surgery.

A handheld plasma device creates tiny, controlled micro-points on the skin. These micro-injuries stimulate your skin's natural healing response, triggering collagen and elastin production — resulting in firmer, smoother, and tighter skin over time.

Yes. Fibroblast is a safe procedure when performed by a trained professional. It is non-surgical, non-invasive, and doesn't require injections. Numbing cream is applied beforehand to maximize comfort throughout your treatment.

Most clients report feeling little to no pain at all. Some describe a light, warm pinching sensation. Numbing cream is applied to the area beforehand to keep you comfortable throughout.

Pre-Care

  • Avoid sun, tanning beds, and self-tanners for 2 weeks prior
  • No retinol, tretinoin, AHAs/BHAs for 14 days before
  • Avoid Botox or fillers in area for 2–4 weeks
  • No alcohol, caffeine, or blood thinners 24–72 hours before
  • Arrive with clean, makeup-free skin
  • If prone to cold sores (lip area), consult your doctor

Post-Care

  • Redness, swelling, and carbon crusts are normal for days 1–3
  • Do not pick or remove crusts — let them fall off naturally
  • Keep area clean and dry; no makeup until healed
  • No saunas, steam rooms, or heavy sweating
  • Apply SPF 30+ daily once healed
  • No active skincare or laser treatments until fully healed

Days 1–3: Swelling, redness, tightening sensation

Days 3–7: Crusting and natural shedding

Weeks 2–8: Continued tightening and improvement

8–12 weeks: Full results as collagen rebuilds

Results vary by skin type and area treated. Multiple sessions may be needed for optimal results.

Most clients see significant results after a single session. However, depending on the severity of skin laxity and the area treated, some clients benefit from 2–3 sessions spaced 8–12 weeks apart. This will be discussed in detail during your consultation.

Results from fibroblast are long-lasting — typically 2–5 years, depending on your age, lifestyle, and skin care routine. Sun protection and a good skincare routine significantly extend results. The skin will continue to age naturally over time.

Fibroblast works best on skin types I–IV (Fitzpatrick scale). Darker skin tones (types V–VI) carry a higher risk of hyperpigmentation and require additional assessment. During your consultation we'll review your skin tone, medical history, and goals to determine if fibroblast is right for you. Certain conditions — including active acne, lupus, diabetes, pregnancy, and recent Botox — may affect timing or eligibility.

Yes — fibroblast is often called a non-surgical facelift or plasma facelift because it lifts and tightens the skin in ways that were previously only possible with surgery. It's a popular alternative for people who want to look younger without going under the knife. There are no incisions, no anesthesia, and no surgical recovery involved.

Botox and fillers are injectable treatments — Botox relaxes muscles to reduce wrinkles, and fillers add volume beneath the skin. Fibroblast works differently: it stimulates your skin's own collagen and elastin production to physically tighten and resurface the skin. Results from fibroblast tend to last longer (2–5 years vs. 3–6 months for Botox) and the skin actually becomes tighter, not just temporarily smoothed. Fibroblast does not add or remove volume — it shrinks and tightens existing skin tissue.

For mild to moderate hooding and eyelid laxity, fibroblast can produce results very similar to surgical blepharoplasty — without the surgery, general anesthesia, or weeks of downtime. It's an excellent option for people who want to lift heavy or hooded eyelids, reduce under-eye crepiness, or improve the appearance of the eye area without a surgical procedure. Severe hooding or ptosis may still require a surgical consult.

Both are non-invasive skin tightening options, but they work differently. Fibroblast (plasma pen) creates controlled micro-injuries at the skin's surface that cause immediate skin contraction and long-term collagen stimulation. Laser tightening uses heat energy to stimulate collagen deeper in the tissue. Fibroblast tends to produce more visible, precise results — particularly for areas like eyelids, jowls, and lip lines — but requires more downtime during the healing phase. Your best option depends on your skin type, goals, and tolerance for recovery time.
